What are the Sustainable Development Goals?
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global blueprint for a better future. Adopted by the United Nations in 2015, these 17 interconnected goals aim to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all by 2030.
Recognizing that progress in one area impacts others, the SDGs balance social, economic, and environmental sustainability. A core principle is to leave no one behind, prioritizing support for the most vulnerable. In Zambia, the SDGs are integrated into the Eighth National Development Plan.
Achieving these ambitious goals requires a collective effort from governments, businesses, civil society, and individuals worldwide. By harnessing creativity, knowledge, technology, and financial resources, we can build a more just, equitable, and sustainable world.
